Paris is a fantastic base for a journalist. From here, I can cover what´s happening in France – politics, economics, well, everything, including the weird and wonderfully odd stories France so often throws up. But also the whole of Europe. Some recent examples include the general elections in Spain and Italy, and the migrant crisis in Hungary. The energy of this amazing city is a source of inspiration.
The icing on the cake is I get to enjoy the French way of life with its delicious food, beautiful architecture and culture: l’art de vivre à la française.
That’s why I have stayed here for over 16 years.
I love working as a freelance journalist, whether it’s live or recorded interviews or reports for TV, radio and online.
My masters in international economics from the Sorbonne enables me to grasp the current financial turmoil.
And a big thank you to the Grande Ecole of Journalism CFJ for providing me with the necessary background and journalistic skills for understanding everything French.
I work in five languages – German (my native tongue), English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. And I am looking to add Mandarin to the list.
I shoot TV packages on my own Sony PMW-200.
I edit them on Adobe Premiere.
